Venue : GNCR Grounds next to the studios
We thank God for His many blessings as this event was one of them after our legal battles on the frequency 98fm.
We had applied for a new frequency which was 93.6fm and was granted this license on the 2 June 2007. Therefore the station felt
that in order to relaunch the new frequency, the Family Fun Day was organized. The event was well attended with an estimation of
5000 people as far as from Chatsworth South, KwaMashu, Inanda, Ndwedwe and Stanger North. The highlight of the function
was that 32 pots of breyani that was cooked and given free to the community. The icing on the cake was the birthday party of
a community member which is a listener of GNCR who had turned 90 on that day. GNCR for the first time had hosted the flag of GNCR.
Project Director, Barnes Govender, thanked God for His provision in terms of the physical food and also the sprirtual blessing which
was seen through the attendance of the crowds. "One of the amazing highlights for me was the 32 pots of breyani that was cooked and given freely
to the community. God is good and indeed all the time."
Station Manager, Steven Mabugana, was amazed at the turn out of the crowds as we thanked God for the wonderful work that the
committee put together and also for the many that attended the function. It was a clear indication of the many that supported us through our legal battles
were also with us in our new frequency 93.6fm. We thank God.
